Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University Conducts Community Service at Piduh Charity Cafe
Gianyar, March 21, 2025 – The Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University, carried out community service activities at Piduh Charity Café & Shop, which is under the auspices of the Widya Guna Bali Foundation. This activity aims to increase the capacity of human resources in realizing inclusive tourism.
The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University, Dr. I Wayan Suardana, M.Par., together with the Chairman of the Widya Guna Bali Foundation, Mr. Ketut Sadia. As part of this activity, a Cooperation Agreement was also signed between the Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University and the Widya Guna Bali Foundation, as a form of joint commitment to supporting the development of skills of individuals with special needs.
This community service activity includes hard skills training for vocational school students and Piduh Café employees, as well as fun activities to create a more interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere.
Piduh Café itself is known as a place that provides opportunities to work for individuals with special needs, including those with Down syndrome, low intelligence, and cerebral palsy. By providing a safe and supportive work environment, the organization helps them build skills, pride, and meaning in life.
The momentum of World Down Syndrome Day is a reminder of the importance of inclusivity in various sectors, including tourism. The Faculty of Tourism, Udayana University hopes that through this activity it can provide real benefits to communities in need and encourage public awareness of the importance of support for individuals with special needs.
