Tourism Planning & Development

Overview

The Field of Expertise Group (KBK) in Tourism Planning & Development focuses on the planning, management, and development of tourism destinations in an integrated and sustainable manner. This KBK covers tourism system analysis, spatial planning, development of tourist attractions, and the application of sustainability concepts such as Tri Hita Karana.

It also emphasizes local community involvement, resource management, and environmental impacts in destination development. The objective is to create competitive and sustainable destinations that provide long-term benefits for local communities.

Vision

To become a leading academic group in sustainable tourism planning and destination development based on local wisdom and global competitiveness.

Mission

  1. To develop studies in tourism planning and destination development.
  2. To apply sustainability principles in destination management.
  3. To integrate local wisdom such as Tri Hita Karana in tourism development.
  4. To encourage local community participation in tourism planning.
  5. To analyze environmental impacts of tourism development.
  6. To produce research and innovation supporting sustainable tourism development.

Research Focus

  1. Tourism system analysis and destination dynamics.
  2. Spatial planning and tourism zoning.
  3. Development of locally based tourist attractions.
  4. Implementation of Tri Hita Karana in tourism.
  5. Community participation in destination development.
  6. Sustainable tourism resource management.
  7. Environmental impacts of tourism activities.
  8. Development of competitive and sustainable destinations.
